Walsall cops pictured with swan after rescuing bird from road

Two caring police officers have been branded "swan whisperers" after saving a swan from the road in Walsall.

The two officers rescued the "sad" swan from the road, before taking it to the vets to have its injured legs treated.

A picture of the two cops and the swan, sat in a police car, was later shared on Twitter.

West Midlands Police's Force Response even likened the scenario to a scene in Simon Pegg and Nick Frost film Hott Fuzz.

They said: "Crime fighters, protectors of the Queen's peace,swan whisperers. Just a few of the things our officers get up to.

"These two E-unit Walsall officers found this sad white swan in the road. She is now at a kind vets having injured legs treated. I will await Hot Fuzz comments."
