The popular event is due to take place on June 9, but organisers need sponsors to ensure the event goes ahead.

The first ever Bearwood Street Festival took place in June 2017 and saw thousands turn out to take in the outdoor festival of music, theatre, food and crafts.

But despite securing funding from the National Lottery Communities Fund, the Arts Council and Creative Black Country, organisers have launched a fundraising page and are asking residents, businesses and traders to pledge their support.

So far, £715 has been raised and organisers are offering various perks – including named sponsors on various stages, children's area and banners.

A spokesman for the festival said: "Bearwood Street Festival is about highlighting the potential in our high street. A vibrant summer event, which platforms fantastic local talent and elevates the profile of all there is to offer in Bearwood.

"We know 8,000 people came to our festival in 2017 and this year we’re expecting even more.

"Our ambitions for this Bearwood celebration are high and we still need your support to make sure that this year’s event runs safely, smoothly and includes a real variety of brilliant arts, music, crafts and family activities."

This year's event is expected to include musicians, street food, family activities and various stalls.
