Jennifer White, from Halesowen, is gearing up for the Birmingham International Marathon, running 26 miles, tomorrow.

The 44-year-old will be completing it with her team mates from Warley Woods Pacers to provide an external box to house a defibrillator at Newfield Park Primary School.

In 2015, Jennifer ran the Brighton Marathon to raise funds for a defibrillator to be installed at the school.

She said: "I raised about £750 two years ago and then Charlotte and Craig's Saving Heart Foundation matched it.

"Then before the kids broke up for the holidays the school said that they wanted to raise money for an external box.

"I felt it right that I did my bit to raise money for it again. The defibrillator would be put outside with a pin code in place - it could save a life."

Jennifer first started running three years ago as a way to have some time to herself while her children were in bed.

Three of her children, Scarlett and Georgia, both 8, and Noah, 10, are still at Newfield while her eldest Lily, 12, is at Earls High School.

Jennifer added: "I was never a runner but then I started going out in the colder months while the kids were in bed to give myself some time for me and it became my time out.

"The kids really take it in their stride when they see me do it now.

"I would like to give thanks to all those that have supported me especially my lovely ladies who know who they are.

"I have done all my training now and think I have done everything I can to prepare myself. It is a big deal as it will be over four hours - but I feel I can do it."
