Appeal after fatal crash near Halesowen

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses in the wake of a fatal crash.

West Mercia Police is appealing for people to come forward after the incident which led to a cyclist's death.

The smash occurred at around 7.40am on Thursday on the Bromsgrove Road in Romsley, near Halesowen.

Officers said they believe a silver Vauxhall Corsa was travelling from Poplar Lane and collided with a silver Ford Transit.

The vehicles subsequently crashed into a cyclist who was also travelling on the Bromsgrove Road. The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesman said officers would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the manner in which the vehicles were being driven at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 99S of June 15.
