Fight Club: PRO event moves from Starworks Warehouse to The Hangar

Ten years since Martin Zaki and Trent Seven’s first pro-wrestling supershow in Wolverhampton had to be moved at short notice history has repeated itself for the brains behind Fight Club: PRO.

Due to damage caused by a recent break-in at Starworks Warehouse, the promotion has had to make a last minute change of location, with the seventh annual Project Mayhem now taking place at The Hangar on Pountney Street. At its new home, Fight Club: PRO will host talent from from Ireland, Mexico, Japan and America for its seventh annual Project Mayhem weekend double-header.

For the first time since May, Meiko Satomura returns to reclaim the Fight Club: PRO title belt that Chris Brookes stole from her. Since then he has formed his own Schadenfreude faction, which has made clear their dissatisfaction with Fight Club: PRO management.

Meanwhile Satomura has been busy, recently making her WWE debut in America, whilst continuing to compete extensive in her native Japan.

Today, the two teams will collide in an eight-person tag team match as Satomura teams with Birmingham’s Omari, and WWE UK superstars and Fight Club: PRO tag team champions Moustache Mountain.

With the opposing team containing both the number one contender in Walter, and in Kyle Fletcher someone who likes to proclaim himself as the true champion, it’s likely Satomura will defend her championship on Saturday’s event.

The Saturday will see an international dream match as WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne faces Cima, a Japanese pro-wrestler whose high-flying exploits have long wowed fans across the world.

Cima recently helped launch Oriental Wrestling Enterprises, a group that aims to bring pro-wrestling to China. He will also be in action on Friday night when he and his tag-team partner T-Hawk take on the returning American tag-team of Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz.

Better known as The Rascals, Xaiver and Wentz have praised fans for the support they received during their frequent trips to Wolverhampton and credited Fight Club Pro for helping them secure high-profile bookings in Japan.

On Saturday they will face Mexico’s Flamita and Bandido in what may be the match of the weekend given both teams combination of athleticism, innovation and risk-taking.

As always with Fight Club: PRO further matches will be announced on the night with WWE UK superstars Millie McKenzie and Jordan Devlin both scheduled to appear. And given the carnage that occurred at last year’s event, everybody should expect the promotion to have some surprises up its sleeve.

Fight Club: PRO Project Mayhem 7 takes place on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th September 2018 at The Hangar. Night One is sold out, but tickets for Night Two can still be purchased at https://www.tickettailor.com/events/fightclubpro/184453.
