The ex-Walsall and Stourbridge midfielder’s first few weeks in management have overseen a major rebuild of the playing squad.

Rangers start their West Midlands League campaign away at Wem Town.

“We started with no players, now we’ve got a squad of 22,” explained Geddes, who at 27 is one of the youngest bosses in the division.

“I have not come here to be a mid-table team. If we are not up there and challenging at the top I will be disappointed.

“Things are looking good. I have got the players I wanted to get in.”

Darlaston Town boss Andy Parkes has had a busy summer preparing his squad for their return to the Premier Division.

Darlo are back in the top flight after a six-year absence and Parkes has added a number of players to last season’s promotion-winning pack including last term’s Division One player of the season TJ Davies, former Willenhall skipper Connor Fellows, ex-Newport keeper Andy Heal, Wyrley captain Reis Nadat and former Tipton Town striker Ezekiel Agyemang.

Parkes’ charges start the season with a trip to Pershore Town.

Wolverhampton Sporting will be looking to mount a push for an immediate return to the Midland League following last season’s relegation. They play host to Bilston tomorrow.

Wednesfield welcome AFC Bridgnorth with their new management duo of John Griffiths and Dan Watkiss chasing a winning start.

Smethwick Rangers also have home advantage with Bewdley Town the visitors.
