Wolves were hoping to beat Watford and book their place at the FA Cup Final against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City - but blew a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 after extra time.

More than 30,000 Wolves supporters made their way to London to follow Nuno's side.

Designated Wolves pubs were rammed before the game and fans were beside themselves with excitement along Wembley Way in the lead up to the 4pm kick-off.

And then an incredible mosaic was created inside the stadium through black and gold sheets, making out the badge and team name.

Craig McDougall, 29 and from Cannock was among the throngs.

He said: “It’s unreal, I’ve never seen anything like this, and I’ve wanted this all my life.

“You can’t describe what it’s like to see all these Wolves fans at Wembley, it’s brilliant.

“If we carry on the way we’re going we can break into the top six and beyond.”

Mark Ardley, 48, travelled to London from Perth with his son Thomas, aged 12.

The pair managed to pick up tickets with just five days remaining and flew over for the game.

Mark said: “It’s all we’ve been looking forward to.

“We got up early and got to the stadium for 10.30am just to soak in the atmosphere.

“For a boy born in Perth, Thomas only supports Wolves because of me, so this is magic.

“The whole city has been buzzing, we’ve waiting years for this and it’s special.

“Some of us old guys are so excited for something like this, we’ve seen all the bad times.

“The experience is amazing and Wolves fans are everything, it’s all Wolves and no Watford it seams.”

Ian Henderson, 39, from Lichfield, travelled to Wembley with three generations of the family, his 70-year-old father Peter and two sons Thomas and Jack.

Ian said: “It’s fantastic to be able to bring my children and dad to this.

“We have suffered as fans in the past, and now my children can see the good times.

“We’ve been so exciting, but this season has been exciting all the way.”
