The Cobblers head to the Banks’s Stadium tomorrow knowing they are likely to have to win the game to have any chance of avoiding the drop.

Walsall – who sit out of the bottom four on goal difference – are also in desperate need of a victory in what is their final home game of the campaign.

But while Northampton are currently below the Saddlers in the table, they arrive having won their last two games.

“Northampton are going to come and have a right go,” Keates said. “Their last two results have given them a chance. Both teams need the points.

“It should be a great game. It’s probably going to be nervy. We need to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and impose ourselves on it. If we do we will get the points.”
