Flames engulf car on town bypass

A car was engulfed in flames during an incident on the Albrighton bypass.

Fire crews were scrambled at 8.17pm on Thursday and had it dealt with by about a quarter of an hour later.

One crew from Albrighton fire station used breathing apparatus and a hosereel jet as they tackled the fire.

Also at the scene were officers from National Highways and the police.

A fire service spokesperson said the car was "50 per cent involved in fire" and once they had put it out they left the incident for police to handle.
