The driver was found to have a provisional licence and no insurance after racing down the M6.

West Midlands Police's traffic unit were on duty in an unmarked vehicle when they spotted the vehicle travelling well above the speed limit.

The incident also occurred during "heavy rain", making conditions more dangerous for motorists.

A spokesperson for the police unit said that the car had been seized and the driver would be making an appearance in court.
