Kidderminster bank evacuated after suspicious package found

A bank was evacuated in Kidderminster this afternoon after a suspicious package was found on the premises.

Police responded to the incident at a bank on Vicar Street at around 2pm today (23) and the bank was evacuated, with a cordon put in place as a precaution.

It has now been established that the bag did not pose any threat to the public and the cordon has been lifted.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the cordon was in place."
