Future of derelict pub 'left to rot' for a decade hangs in the balance as court action is launched

The future of the Brown Jug Pub on Sandbeds Road in Short Heath, Willenhall, is uncertain after Walsall Council called for it to be demolished and the site redeveloped.

The pub has stood empty for more than a decade. It had previously been identified for redevelopment by a vet, but the plan did not come to fruition.

Walsall Council said it wants to determine its ownership and make plans for the site.

Councillor Adrian Andrew, deputy leader and portfolio holder for regeneration at Walsall Council, said: “The Brown Jug is one of many sites across Willenhall that has been abandoned and left to rot.
