Walsall police officers and firefighters were called to the scene and fire crews had to use a hydraulic platform to lift the pair down from the roof.

St Matthew's Police tweeted saying: "Interesting end to Team 3's set of shifts after we had a call stating two young people are stuck on a roof after the car park shutter closed on them.

"Thankfully all safe and well and on their way home, but a lesson definitely learnt.

"Great job by West Midlands Fire."
