Woman taken to hospital after motorbike crash in Walsall

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after a crash in Walsall earlier today.

The smash happened at the junction of Walsall Wood Road and Lancaster Avenue, Aldridge, just before 8.30am.

Two ambulances and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford - which landed on the playing field at Leighswood School – arrived at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said there was one casualty – a female motorcyclist in her 20s.

She was taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital – but the extent of her injuries is unknown.

Officers from West Midlands Police were also at the scene.
