Staffordshire Fire & Rescue said the fire had broken out at Aqua Force Special Waste Ltd on the Sprint Industrial estate, with a nearby business owner saying he had arrived at work at around 7.30am and seen flames from the unit.

Around six fire engines were seen at the site alongside a force response vehicle, with the fire reported as out by crews at the scene around 9.45am and engineers were working at the scene to remove the excess water from the unit.

A large amount of smoke and fire damage could be seen on the side of the building and inside the unit.

Staffordshire Fire & Rescue had advised anyone who is in the area and could see the incident to avoid the area until it is safe to do so.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said after the fire: "We are currently at the scene of a fire at an aerosol manufacturing plant in south Staffordshire.

"Crews from stations in Cannock Chase, south Staffordshire, Stafford and the West Midlands were called to the premises just after 7am this morning (Tuesday 13 February) on Station Road, Four Ashes.

"The building was well-alight when we got there. The fire was contained using main jets and hose reel jets.

"Thankfully, no one has been reported injured and the building has been evacuated.

"For the time being, we’re advising nearby residents to close their windows and doors whilst we continue to work at the scene."
