Missing man Matthew Gill, 43, from Stourbridge

The missing Stourbridge man's 'favourite' club will feature images of missing Stourbridge man Matthew Gill and his mobile phone on their screens at half time in their fixture with Manchester City.

Matthew's partner Annette Woodhouse said she was pleased Matthew's 'favourite' team would be supporting the appeal.

She said: "I’m really pleased that his favourite football team WBA are supporting us in finding him."

West Bromwich Albion FC club spokesman Martin Swain said: "We have got an image of Matthew himself, his mobile phone and an appeal over the sound system will go out before the game."

It comes as police revealed Matthew's phone, a black Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, was switched on last Thursday during the early evening somewhere in the Stourton area of Staffordshire and was left on for several hours.

No calls were made or received from the phone, which sports a distinctive Rocky Balboa phone cover.

Partner Annette has urged anyone with information about Matthew's phone to come forward.

She said: "The phone could give us a clue - we just need to know if Matt turned it on or if someone has it.

"If someone else has it they are not in any trouble but we do need to know how or where they got the phone from.

"Any information no matter how small would be great."

The 43-year-old was last seen leaving his home at 9am on October 6.

Matthew is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build and would have had short cropped hair when he went missing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Locate team on 01902 649 150 or the Missing Persons charity on 116 000.
