The travellers arrived at Swan Pool Park in Stourbridge on Friday, but were issued with a section 62 notice by bailiffs and officers from West Midlands Police at 10am on Saturday.

The order instructed the travellers to either move to the transit site at Coseley or leave Dudley borough completely and, after going to the transit site, the travellers decided to move on because of poor weather conditions.

Councillor Laura Taylor, cabinet member for housing and community services, was involved in the process to remove the travellers and said she was pleased to see the issue resolved peacefully.

She said: "I'm really pleased with all the input from the housing officers, as well as the bailiffs and the police and I'm happy the eviction was a peaceful one.

"It just goes to show it was worth us getting the transit site in because it means we were able to move them in less than 24 hours after they had arrived on site, which is an absolute success."
