Lindsey Silvester was left reeling after a man posing as a potential buyer for the Fiat Panda, which was her dad David's pride and joy, made off from her drive in the vehicle.
The 76-year-old grandad of three lived in Wales until three weeks ago when he died of a heart attack.
Lindsey had planned to sell the car for around £7,000 and give him a good send-off but now has nothing to contribute to the fund.
She said: "I put the car online to sell and when he turned up on Monday from Wolverhampton he seemed fine and he knew that it was my dad's who had recently died.
