Three crews from Dudley and Haden Cross fire stations were called to Saltwells Nature Reserve on Friday night(27) to tackle a bush fire.
People were advised to avoid the nature reserve in Dudley, and fire chiefs have now urged people to report suspicious activity to the police.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman sad: "Whilst this fire is now dealt with, the damage fires can cause to open areas can be massive, and it often takes a lot of resources to get it under control.
"Arson is a crime. If you see someone deliberately setting a fire, report it to fire and police immediately."
