Six crews were scrambled to Clock Lane in Solihull to extinguish the blaze at Castle Hills Farm on Clock Lane, Solihull.

The blaze ripped through the building – including the roof – with fears the building could collapse on the crews on Sunday.

A water relay system was set up – due to the isolated nature of the building – just after 9.30pm.

Firefighters from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service's Coleshill station assisted with the water supply operations.

A spokesman for the West Midlands Fire Service said: "Thirty firefighters and six fire engines spent the night at the scene.

"It was feared that parts of the building could collapse, meaning that crews were unable to work in some areas.

"Parts of the brick and timber building have collapsed and others have been left in a precarious, unstable condition."

Three relief crews – a total of 15 firefighters – remained at the scene in case of any flare ups in the aftermath.

Now fire investigators are working to establish the cause of the blaze, which happened less than two miles from the airport.
