Jack Speed, who drove the wrong way around roundabouts and at 80mph in a 30mph zone, failed to stop for officers when they tried to pull him over in Birmingham earlier this year.

The 21-year-old banned driver raced through a red light at 70mph, moments before losing control and crashing into a wall and a parked car on Digby Road.

He was arrested at Taser-point and officers found a backpack full of cannabis and a 12ins wooden baton in the car.

Speed, of Churchill Road, Sutton Coldfield, admitted dangerous driving, disqualified driving, possession of drugs with intent to supply, possession of an offensive weapon, and driving without insurance.

The incident took place in Erdington just after 11pm on January 2.

He was jailed for four years and 10 months at Birmingham Crown Court on June 26.
