Pair remain in hospital after Bilston crash involving suspected stolen car

Two men remain in hospital and are waiting to be questioned by police following a crash in Bilston on Friday.

The men, in their 20s, were in a suspected stolen Audi which crashed with a wall on Bradley Lane.

Shortly before the crash, the vehicle had failed to stop for police on Bilston Road just after 3pm.

The men suffered leg injuries and were left in a serious condition. They were due to undergo surgery.

Police want to question the men on suspicion of car theft and burglary.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "The people in the Bradley Lane crash on Friday are still in hospital."

The driver was trapped in the vehicle for around 30 minutes before he was freed by firefighters and taken to New Cross Hospital.

The passenger got out unaided but he was taken to Russells Hall Hospital.

Officers on patrol on Bilston Road had spotted the suspected vehicle and tried to flag it down.

However the car failed to stop and drove off from the police.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
