Amaan Momand was killed after suffering the blows on Alcester Road South, Maypole, on Thursday.

A 17-year-old, from Yardley, allegedly assaulted the 23-year-old after a row broke out in the street.

Mr Momand was transferred to hospital in a critical condition but never regained consciousness.

He was pronounced dead on Sunday, with a post mortem examination showing he died from a head injury.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in Handsworth on Sunday night and will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court today.

He is the second person we've charged in connection with the killing.

Jamie Taylor, aged 21 from Tidworth Croft in Kings Heath, appeared in front of magistrates on Saturday charged with wounding.

The charge is expected to be reviewed in due course in light of Mr Momand's death.

Taylor, aged 21, has been remanded into custody ahead of his Birmingham Crown Court appearance on October 18.
