Metropolitan Police said there was a "small amount of disorder" involving away supporters at yesterday's match at Selhurst Park, which required steward and police intervention.

Officers confirmed that one man – an Aston Villa supporter – was arrested on suspicion of affray and is currently in custody.

Body worn footage and CCTV is due to be reviewed and an investigation is underway.

The game concluded 1-0 to Palace but there was some anger among the away fans after referee Kevin Friend disallowed a Villa goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
