Lawrence Parchment-Walker is accused of reversing his car into the officers during a routine stop on Cemetery Road on Monday afternoon.

The 22-year-old, of St Pauls Road in Smethwick, is alleged to have fled the scene, before later being arrested at a garage in West Bromwich.

West Midlands Police has confirmed that neither officer was seriously injured.

He was charged by police with two counts of attempted wounding with intent, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

He was remanded in custody and will now appear at Walsall Magistrates' Court this morning.
