Blue Peter arrives in Wolverhampton for Torch

Final preparations to welcome the Olympic Torch to Wolverhampton were in full flow this afternoon. Construction workers at West Park have been putting the finishing touches to a stage for children's programme Blue Peter tomorrow.

Final preparations to welcome the Olympic Torch to Wolverhampton were in full flow this afternoon. Construction workers at West Park have been putting the finishing touches to a stage for children's programme Blue Peter tomorrow.

Presenters Helen Skelton and Barney Harwood will be joined by former EastEnders star Joe Swash for a live broadcast of Blue Peter's Big Olympic Tour from 9am, with more than 2,000 fans expected flock to the park.

Miss Skelton, aged 28, will carry the Olympic Torch through Wolverhampton tomorrow.

About 2,000 tickets have been given away for the live Blue Peter broadcast. People are invited to take part in events at the park from 10am.
