The recent fire at the Starworks Warehouse meant that for one night only Fight Club: PRO returned to the Diamond Banqueting Suite where last year they held Elite Friday, an event that attracted over a thousand people and commanded worldwide attention.

The big news coming out of the event was the makeshift team of Pete Dunne and Millie McKenzie winning the Pro-Wrestling Revolver Tag Team Titles from Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett.

The self-styled 'Besties in the World' had hoped to start their UK Tour with a successful defence of their tag team titles but the local talent had other ideas.

The match was built around Coventry’s McKenzie gradually earning the respect of the WWE UK Champion, with the two’s teamwork growing in confidence throughout the match.

The Americans have already taken to Twitter to vow revenge.

Aptly for an event billed as 'The World Warriors', that was far from the only international contest.

Ireland’s Jordan Devlin won a high-flying contest against South Africa’s Angelico, while the night ended with a thrilling match between Travis Banks and the visiting American superstar Low Ki.

The two men brawled all over the Diamond Banqueting Suite, with both thrown into a mass of chairs.

Afterwards Low Ki, who has frequently appeared on American television, praised both Banks and the local fans, saying 'crossing the pond to be a part of tonight was an honour' before promising to return.

However local talent also shone.

Birmingham’s Omari defended his Infinity Trophy against Kyle Fletcher.

Whilst Fletcher may be from Australia, he now lives in Wolverhampton where he trains in Dudley with Fight Club: PRO’s acclaimed wrestling school.

The two fought a great match, with the numerous escapes and reversals showcasing how well the two training partners know each other.

And Dudley’s Tyler Bate welcomed back someone who was present at Fight Club: PRO’s birth in 2010, with Walsall’s MK McKinnan putting in a strong effort against the former WWE UK Champion.

However, there was more to the night than just hard-hitting action, with plenty of comedy on show too.

The opening match saw several funny exchanges, including a lengthy skit between the wolf-masked Kid Lykos and Japanese women’s wrestling superstar Kris Wolf.

Later, Tyler Bate took time away from his entrance to say a special hello to a visiting hen party.

'The World Warriors' will shortly be available to buy on DVD or on demand.
