Matthew Fowell launched "Living The Lockdown Life" as a way to look at the lighter side of lockdown

Matthew Fowell from Codsall created "Living the Lockdown Life", an online store selling clothing and apparel such as hoodies, face masks and mugs.

Among the most popular items have been T-shirts, which has features slogans such as "Eat, Sleep, Self Isolate, Repeat" and "Gardening during quarantine? No thanks, but I have grown this awesome beard"

The 45-year-old father of two said the inspiration came from wanting to celebrate the lighter side of being confined to home as a way of cheering up his NHS worker wife.

He said: "My wife Penny works as a nurse at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, so the past few months have been really stressful for her.

"During the peak of the epidemic, I wanted to lift her spirits whether through gifts or just hooking up with our friends on video chat to have a laugh.

"My idea for this store was born from this. I just thought that many other people are really suffering right now, and some light-hearted humour could be just what is needed.

"I've enjoyed the whole process of setting up the website from the ground up, and I hope it helps to put a smile on people's faces."

Matthew launched the business by drawing on his experience of working in digital marketing, including spells as head of paid search for Midlands News Association and digital marketing lead for web design agency West Midlands Media.

He added: "With the Covid crisis continuing, I plan to branch out into sweatshirts, leggings, towels, fleeces, caps and hats."
