With the scare season upon us and Halloween right around the corner, here are our 16 best ways to have a scarily good time this Autumn.

We think that the Autumn season is one of the best times of the year, the leaves are changing colours and the weather is just right to wrap up all warm and cosy.

However finding stuff to keep our little ghouls occupied is always a challenge, so we have compiled a comprehensive list on how to keep the whole family active this harvest season.

Frightful fun for all the family

Pumpkin Parade. Kingswood Trust. Don your most berrying fancy dress customer and bring your own pumpkins to carve on-site in one of the silliest and spookiest vents this Halloween. Join staff at Wolverhampton's, Kingswood Trust, and take part in the twilight walk, if you dare! Doors open on October 20 from 4pm. Tickets cost £10.

Spooktacular Halloween Kids Party. Bantock House, Wolverhampton. Get ready for a spine-tingling day of Halloween fun as you dance and play in a monster mash-up or sink your fangs into delicious Autumn treats. Doors open on October 28 from 12pm. Tickets cost £8 per child.

Gandey's Halloween Spooktacular. Merry Hill. Gendey's Circus is back with a Halloween treat like no other. Get ready to be thrilled and chilled with a spooky extravaganza like no other. Doors open on October 20, to November 5. Tickets start from £9.99 per person.

Half-term Trail. Arley Arboretum, Bewdley. Join staff and dozens of other families for a spooktacular half-term at Arley Arboretum. Take part in their adventure trail with an Autumn and Halloween twist. Take part in the Autumn scavenger hunt, help Willow the 'green witch' and find magical ingredients to mix amazing spells. Doors open on October 28. Tickets start from £3.50 per child.

Family Halloween Party. Victoria Shopping Park. Hednesford. Visit the Victoria Shopping Park as you take part in a frightfully fun Halloween party. Raise the dead while doing the monster mash or take part in games and refreshments, there is a terrible amount of fun for everyone in this party. Doors open on October 27 at 6pm. Tickets cost £6 per person.

Halloween Nights, Black Country Museum. Take a trip to the Black Country Museum and prepare to be spooked during their Halloween Nights. Take part in old-fashioned trick or treating, dancing and even a spooky costume parade. For those feeling especially brave, face the creep-crawlies and spooky animals as you explore the factories and learn about their haunted histories. Doors open on October 28. Tickets cost £14 for children.

Botanical Beasts and Mythical Creatures, Botanical Gardens, Birmingham. Step into an enchanting world that is full of surprises. In this event you will meet witches, wizards, mischievous trolls and dancing fairies. Doors open on October 28. Tickets start at £6.50.

Winnie's Wonderland Scare Maze, Winnie's Wonderland, Wolverhampton Road. The Palmer family are back again with the scariest scare maze this year. Be prepared for a fright as you traipse through the woods, blissfully unaware of what is around each and every corner. The event is on every Friday and Saturday until October 28. Donations of £5 are taken at the door.

For big monsters only!

Halloween Scaremaze, Luna Springs, Digbeth. Visit Digbeth and take part in a scare maze that is guaranteed to give you the fright of your life.

Adults Halloween Night, Wolverhampton Rugby Union Football Club, Castlecroft Road. Join staff at the rugby club for an evening of adult Halloween fun. Immerse yourself in a night of ghoulish fun and eerie excitement. Go dressed as your spookiest character and take part in spine-chilling activities. Doors open at 8pm on October 27. Tickets cost £5 per person.

Scaremaze Walsall, Birchills Street, Walsall. Face the fear as you complete one of the scariest mazes in the West Midlands. Scaremaze Walsall is an award-winning experience that promises the most terrible of frights on the scariest of nights. Spots are available throughout October. Tickets start from £16 per person.

Five events for those who just want some Autumn fun

Wolves Makers Market, All Nations, Temple Street, Wolverhampton. Join members of the All Nations Church as you browse some of the best ingredients, goods and items that Autumn Harvest has to offer. The market is a great opportunity for local makers to display their goods, and for shoppers to grab a unique gift for a real bargain. Doors open on October 28. Entry to the event is free.

Bostin Pumpkins, Wood Hall Farm. Wood Hall Farm is inviting everyone to pick their own pumpkin this Autumn season. The farm is kitted out with insta-grammable photo sections, haunted sections, and refreshment areas. Pick through the farm's 50,000 pumpkins to find your perfect one. Doors open at 10 on October 21. Entry is £5 per person.

Autumn Market, Kingswinford Beefeater, Dudley Road. Pop along to Beefeater Kingswinford as you mooch and munch some of the best treats that Autumn has to offer. Have a bit of lunch while you grab a bargain at this fantastic Autumn market. Doors open on October 29 at 7pm. Entry is free.

Pick Your Own Pumpkins, Lower Drayton Farm, Staffordshire. Massive pumpkins, mini pumpkins and everything in between, that's what's on offer at this pick your own pumpkin event. Once you have picked your prime pumpkin, hit the carving station to carve your scariest figure. Doors open at October 30. Tickets start at £12 per adult.

Stafford Market Reopen Event, Market Square, Stafford. Join hundreds of others as you celebrate the re-opening of Staffords Market Square, the event will include live music, dancing, street performances and a ton of street vendors and local traders to grab an Autumn bargain. Doors open at 12pm on October 28. Entry is free
