moreA new branch of gap personnel – the UK's eighth largest industrial labour provider – has opened in Wolverhampton city centre.

It already operates branches in Birmingham, Daventry, Derby, Leek, Stoke and Telford as part of its Midlands regional division.

The new branch in Waterloo Court, will also serve Walsall, Dudley, Wednesbury, Lichfield, Cannock and Rugeley.

Branch manager John Newall, said "In terms of expectations I feel that during the next 12 months Wolverhampton office has the ability and scope to break into the top five branches with in the gap network."

There are initially four people in the office but Mr Newall said he could see that growing over the next 12 months to six or seven.

"We were originally based in Rugeley, however, we had become too big for the office and decided on Wolverhampton as a location because of the development which is currently happening in the area. It is an ideal location to connect all our other Midlands offices together and also a great central base for all existing clients.

"Our new office is finished to a very high standard and, with the business and success we have enjoyed over the last 18 months, I feel that the branch will continue to grow."

Midlands regional director James Martin said: "the new Wolverhampton office is a great opportunity for the gap brand to make a name for itself in The Black Country."

Founder and managing director Gary Dewhurst said: "I am delighted to open in Wolverhampton, a vibrant centre for commerce, industry and culture. James, John and the team look forward to working with the area's leading employers, assisting the local workforce and re-investing some of the profits made into local community projects."
