Wolves boss Mick McCarthy today dropped a big hint he will stick with one up front for Sunday's crunch clash against Wigan.

With Steven Fletcher highly unlikely to be risked, the manager is likely to keep with the 4-4-1-1 system that performed well despite losing 3-1 at Premier League leaders Manchester City.

That means Jamie O'Hara is set to play behind lone striker Kevin Doyle, with Adlene Guedioura likely to keep his place in central midfield for his first home Premier League start of 2011-12.

Asked if the formation gave him food for thought, McCarthy said: "Of course, yes. It's a good shape because it does make us solid.

"Scoring the first goal is important but if you analyse that statement, it's important to keep it out of your net as well."
