Wolves were today being linked with a £3million-plus move for Reading captain Matt Mills.

It is understood Wolves have made an approach for the 24-year-old as one of two centre-backs targeted this summer, along with Birmingham's Roger Johnson.

Wolves today refused to be drawn on the latest speculation, with chief executive Jez Moxey revealing he is concentrating on deals to strengthen other areas of the team.

Moxey told the Express & Star: "At the moment we have nothing to say other than I am currently working on two deals – and neither of them are for centre halves.

"We have a number of different enquiries in with a number of different clubs for players.

"What we are not doing is putting all our eggs in one basket."

Moxey's concentration on other deals doesn't mean he hasn't already bid for Mills and is instead likely to indicate a contract for £5million Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara is finally close.

Wolves tracked Swindon-born Mills two years ago before he moved from Doncaster for £2million and he has become a solid performer at the heart of the Royals defence, making 61 league appearances.
