Albion goalkeeper Boaz Myhill today insisted getting his first-team break has not changed his approach to life at the Hawthorns.

The former Villa trainee has replaced the out-of-form Scott Carson for the Baggies' last three matches, including his first two Premier League appearances since his summer move from Hull.

But Myhill is adamant his approach will not change as he looks to keep his place in the team.

He said: "You just have to keep doing what you've been doing.

"I can't change myself as a player, all I can do is what I have been doing ever since I've been here, do my work from Monday to Friday and I have just been given a platform now to show what I can do on a Saturday.

"It doesn't really change anything because I would hate to think people would say I'm trying harder now I'm in the team than I was before. That would be a bad reflection on me.

"I think I am always a reasonable trainer."

Myhill was forced to wait behind club captain Carson for a chance in the Albion team after playing regularly for the Tigers.

But the Wales international insisted he has enjoyed his early months at the Hawthorns.

The 28-year-old said: "Ultimately everybody's goal is to get into the starting line-up at the beginning of the season.

"You want to play in every game but some people do it and some don't, so it's up to you as a player to make the most of the opportunities you are given.

"The fact that currently I've been given a chance, doesn't make it any more enjoyable, it's just that little bit of extra icing on the cake."
