An impressive away-day display saw Wolves ease to a 6-1 success at Solihull United Ladies.

A lively start saw the visitors go in front courtesy of an own goal ,only to be pegged back within a minute when United’s Laura Smith converted a penalty.

Wolves responded and went it to half-time 2-1 up thanks to a close range header from Lowri Walker.

The next goal arrived on the hour mark, Jamila Palmer capitalising on a defensive mistake to slot home from the edge of the box.

Alice Keitley made it 4-1 to Wolves with a powerful shot up and over Katy Pearce in the Solihull goal.

Walker bagged her second with nine minutes remaining before Amy Dicken wrapped up the scoring with number six.

Boss Dan McNamara declared himself content with his side’s display.

“It’s a difficult competition to be involved in because you never know what to expect,” he said. “We weren’t on the best surface, but I was pleased with the professionalism of the girls who got the job done.”

“We said at half-time we need a little more quality, we were getting the ball into the final third but once we got there, we were lacking composure. So, we said we need to be more composed in and around the box and in the second half, we were.”
