The 23-year-old Italian has been brought back from Fiorentina to bolster the attacking ranks, while Morgan Gibbs-White has also returned from Swansea.

Gibbs-White has already been confirmed to be eligible for the third-round tie at Molineux, but Wolves do not know for sure on Cutrone yet.

"Morgan is clear to join us, Patrick we still need international authorisation," said boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

"He will arrive at Compton today (Thursday) around 5pm and will do some training. Then we'll assess and decide."

Cutrone has been handed an unlikely second chance with Wolves in the wake of Raul Jimenez's injury, having struggled for game time in Italy.

Gibbs-White, meanwhile, made a good impression at Swansea despite spending a fair chunk of his loan at the Liberty Stadium on the sidelines with a foot injury.

"We decided to recall Patrick and Morgan, especially due to the situations that we have," said Nuno.

"We believe they can bring competition to the squad and can help us. It's a different situation on both players, of course.

"Patrick was in a situation that he was not participating with his former club, so we bring him here and are hopeful he can help us.

"Morgan was doing well although he had an injury that stopped him at Swansea. Credit to them for doing an amazing job with him.

"He is getting back to fitness and is our player so knows the routines and is a talented player who can help us."

On Cutrone, Nuno added: "We bring him here with the hope that he can settle down and help us.

"It's a tough moment to operate in the market. The expectation is for him to integrate into the routines, to give us a hand and to help us."
