Martin Olsson offered West Brom trial

West Brom are set to allow Martin Olsson to train with the squad, with a view to signing him on a short-term deal.

Slaven Bilic is set to keep an eye on the former Swansea defender, having seen Kieran Gibbs struggle with injury once again this season - whilst Nathan Ferguson's future at the club remains in question.

Olsson is currently without a club, having departed Swansea last summer.

The 31-year-old has plenty of experience in English football in both the Premier League and the Championship, having first made the move to the country in 2006 when joining Blackburn's youth set-up.

Contrary to reports in Sweden, no permanent deal has been agreed with the left-sided defender, but a contract could be offered should he impress.

Olsson does have his fair share of injury problems, having suffered a ruptured achilles - ending his Swansea career in December 2018.
