Walsall condemned Gillingham to a crushing defeat in their previous showing on home soil, and rescued a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Newport County at Rodney Parade on Friday night.

The Saddlers have lost just once at Bescot in the league this term, and Sadler is determined to back up the two previous results with a positive performance against the Red Devils.

“Momentum is everything in football and it certainly is in this league,” Sadler said.

“We take that momentum into the next game now of giving absolutely everything together to get a point at the end (against Newport) off the back of what was a fantastic performance against Gillingham.

“We want to back that up and we’ve got a home game to look forward to on to tonight.”
