The Scholars go into the second qualifying round tie tomorrow having beaten Market Drayton Town and Spalding United in the competition.

The Reds – who play a level above Dundas’s charges – will be confident too, after seeing off Witton Albion 4-0 in the last round.

“We go into it with a bit of confidence on the back of a couple of good wins in the competition, and a good 3-1 win in the league last weekend against Market Drayton,” said Dundas.

“The lads have trained hard and are raring to go.

“Workington have got some good players and I don’t think they have lost in eight or nine games.

“Hopefully we get a few more fans in than usual for the game, we are looking forward to it.”

Chasetown are 14th in the Evo-Stik First Division South while Workington are eighth in the Evo-Stik Premier.

Tom Urwin and Mark Branch are cup-tied for the Scholars.

“We have got a couple who are cup-tied and we are not quite at full strength,” said Dundas.

“We still have enough quality there though and we’ll give it our best shot.”

Since taking the reins in the summer, Dundas has made a raft of signings.

Jack Langston recently returned from Stafford Rangers.

“Over the last two or three weeks, we have got a few faces in. The squad starting to take shape now, I’m really pleased at the moment,” added Dundas.

Hednesford Town are also in Trophy action.

Rob Smith’s side take on Cleethorpes Town – who are third in Chasetown’s division – at Keys Park.
