Matthew Kleinveldt (51) and Jack Stanley (49*) had top scored for Wolverhampton en route to a finish of 232-6.

In reply, Bromsgrove’s Jayden Levitt carried his bat, striking 135 from 155 balls to give them a chance.

However, as he ran out of partners, sharp fielding from Wolverhampton gave them two important run outs towards the end of the innings, and helped them squeeze to their second win of the season.

Halesowen were also on the receiving end of an impressive unbeaten century as Oswestry’s Warrick Fynn struck 124 not out from 145 balls.

But unlike Wolverhampton, they couldn’t overcome such an innings, and fell 21 runs short of the 238 target.

A ninth-wicket partnership of 51 between Hassan Akram (30) and Eddie Rhodes (28) gave them brief hope after Wesley Griffiths’ half century, but in the end, they were bowled out for 217 to leave them third from bottom.

Elsewhere, Himley’s match with Bridgnorth was abandoned after 4.3 over because the umpires deemed the pitch to be too dangerous following water running under the covers.
