Vehicle overturns on M6 in Staffordshire causing delays

A vehicle overturned on the M6 causing delays of more than 45 minutes for drivers.

The incident took place between junctions 15 for Stoke-on-Trent and 14 for Stafford North on the M6 southbound at around 6.45pm yesterday when the vehicle hit the central reservation.

Emergency services were on the scene and the motorway was closed for 45 minutes, before being opened to two lanes after the road was cleared of debris.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: "Two crews from Longton and Stone were called to the scene around 6.45pm.

"Two casualties from a saloon car were given a pre-cautionary check, but were released at the scene."

The motorway was fully reopened to traffic around 9.17pm after emergency repairs to the central reservation.
