The broken traffic lights are causing delays this morning

The temporary lights on Bilston Street, heading towards Bilston Street Island, have been on red since early this morning – causing hassle for motorists.

Some drivers have been spotted skipping the red light after realising something had gone wrong, when the light never turned green.

But those travelling a bit further back, who haven't realised the problem, stop again when they arrive at the red light – causing tailbacks.

The lights are managed by Midland Metro Alliance. Wolverhampton Council confirmed that a contractor is on site currently fixing the issue.
