Fire crews respond to house fire in South Staffordshire

Firefighters have successfully extinguished an early morning house blaze.

Fire crews from Penkridge, Rising Brook, Stone and Stafford raced to the fire on Mill Lane, Acton Trussell, just before 8.20am on Tuesday morning.

On arrival, fire officers found a detached property that was well alight, using hose reel jets to fight the blaze.

Staffordshire Police also attended for traffic management purposes, with fire officers declaring the site clear at 9.50am.

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We found a property well alight and used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire by 9.50am.

"Positive pressure ventilation was also used to clear smoke from the property. No one was in the property at the time of the fire."
