Lovell Homes and Touch Developments Ltd have applied for 73 homes on the land at Engleton Lane, Brewood.

If the application is approved, there would also be a new vehicular access created off Engleton Lane, and 40 per cent of the houses would be affordable.

The development would provide one, two, three and four bedroom homes, of which some would be bungalows and a number maisonettes.

In the plans it says that new public open spaces would be created in the centre of the site along with 'green boundaries'.

It adds: "Car parking spaces have been provided in line with car parking demand and local authority standards/requirements to avoid excessive on-street parking both within the development and on the local highway network.

"Parking has been primarily designed to be provided on-plot, but there are also areas of 'frontage parking', where spaces are located in front of properties."

South Staffordshire Council will consider the application in the coming weeks.
