Cannock car thief suspect arrested after police search
A man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a Land Rover in the Cannock area.
Staffordshire Police were first called to a report of the stolen car in Hatherton at around 4.20am this morning.
After working with the Central Motorway Police Group, officers manager to engage with the suspect around an hour after the car was stolen – however the 27-year-old then escaped on foot.
But following an extensive area search, the man has now been located.
A spokesman from Staffordshire Police said: "A 27-year-old man from Cannock was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving.
"He is now in police custody and enquiries are on-going."
