Josh McClelland, aged 19 lives with his partner Georgia Thompson-Wiggin and their son Riley at a housing complex in Ablon Court, Filance Lane, Penkridge. The tree crashed into the living room at around 8am on Friday during torrential rain which hit the region. It missed the family but caused extensive damage to the property

Mr McClelland claims he first reported the problems of the trees – which lie just ten feet from their property – to landlords Midland Heart during similar weather in April. The problem was again reported during torrential rain in August, and again last month.

The couple, who have lived in the flat for around a year, have now moved in temporarily to the home of Georgia's mother Louise, who has had to move out to accommodate them.

Josh said the situation was far from ideal with the disruption to Riley's routine and with Georgia, aged 18, already suffering from nerves.
