West Midlands Police confirmed officers were called after a man's body was found in the canal off Fairview Avenue.

It happened at 7.45am on Saturday.

A spokesman for the force said: " Sadly, nothing could be done to save the man. His family have been informed.

"His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
