Car front end smashed in after collision in Birmingham

A car's front end has been completely smashed in after a collision on a major road in Birmingham in the early hours of the morning.

Fire crews from Ladywood and Aston were sent to the A440 St Chads Queensway, near Birmingham Children's Hospital, on Sunday.

West Midlands Fire Service received the call at around 6am and found one person trapped in a VW Golf at the scene, according to reports.

Landywood Fire Station posted on social media: "(Fire crews from) Ladywood and Aston attended a serious RTC this morning (Sunday)".
