Trial date set for Oldbury man accused of Walsall nightclub murder

A trial date has been set for a man accused of the nightclub murder of Akeem Francis-Kerr in Walsall.

The 29-year-old was stabbed at Valesha’s nightclub formerly the Colliseum in Newport Street, off Bradford Place, at about 5am on March 11 and died while being taken to hospital.

Accused Edward Wilson, 39, of Temple Way, Oldbury, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court charged with his murder on Friday.

The trial will start on September 11. Wilson was remanded in custody until then.
