Balaclava carjacker strikes as driver defrosts windows in Black Country

A balaclava-wearing carjacker stole a vehicle from a driver as he defrosted his windows in the Black Country.

The owner was pulled from his Hyundai Kona in Chantry Drive, Halesowen, at 7.35am on Monday.

The car was later found in Oak Road, Quinton.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to a carjacking on Chantry Drive, Halesowen at 7.35am on Monday.

"A driver was sat inside his Hyundai Kona defrosting the windows when a man wearing a balaclava opened the car door and pulled him from the vehicle. The offender drove off towards Quinton.

"The car was later found on Oak Road, Quinton.
