West Midlands Police say a large gathering involving more than 30 people was stopped at Wallace Road, Oldbury, on Saturday.

Elsewhere, about 300 people attend an unlawful music event in Hampton Street, Birmingham, on Saturday night.

Officers seized DJ equipment from that particular event and are looking at taking action against organisers.

Meanwhile, about 200 people were dispersed im Hadfield Close, near Birmingham city centre.

Across the region, police say dozens of house and outdoor parties took place where more 30 people attended.

Chief Superintendent Claire Bell said: "It's hugely disappointing that people still don't recognise the dangers to themselves, and their loved ones, of large gatherings which only increase the risk of spreading a deadly virus."

"Raves and large parties are not only illegal but a nuisance to others, and while we try to engage as much as possible we can't tolerate such events."
